mid summer classic

no, not the "this time it counts" selig special all star game. But LE TOUR!

About the all-star game though, and I think baseball still has it over the nba, or the joke of a pro-bowl. And I did used to get all excited about the homerun derby. But wouldn't it be cool to see some kind of skills competition like they have in basketball, even though the guys just go half speed through it. There has to be some kind of defensive medley out there. Outfielders with the best arm competition? Lay a trash can down on top of home plate? Eric Sutter style at the beach last fourth of July? Ok, you get the idea.

Right, but the real mid-summer classic for me is the tour de france. Every year I seem to get more and more into it, and my appreciation for what these guys are actually doing over the course of three weeks swells. But can you even imagine running the equivalent of a marathon almost every day for 3 weeks??? Incredible. Its def on my list of sporting events I need to see live. Which also includes.

An Oriole playoff game. (not even WS)
All 4 tennis grand slams would be cool.
I'd like a Ryder Cup...in Europe.
